Essential Print Services is thrilled to announced that it is the official print partner for the Derby Ram Trail which will take place this summer.
The trail, which is raising money for Derby Museums, will see thirty huge rams appearing across the city centre, one of which will be sponsored by the print company.
Essential Print Services has printed over 30,000 maps of the city centre trail for visitors to follow which includes details of the location, artist and sponsor of each ram. The Essential Print ram is located outside the Jury’s Inn hotel in the Cathedral Quarter and is named Joe, after the ‘Landscape with a Rainbow’ painting by famed Derby-born artist, Joseph Wright.
To celebrate, every person who takes a selfie with the Essential Print Services ram and posts it on social media tagging the company will be entered into an exclusive prize draw to win a night out in Derby. The prize will include a meal at either The Palfrey or The Wonky Table worth up to £100, two cinema tickets for The Quad and an overnight stay at Jury’s Inn.

When she heard about the scheme, Managing Director of Essential Print Services, Yvonne Gorman, jumped at the chance to be part of it. She commented: “Creativity, design, stunning artwork, and putting Derby on the map? There couldn’t be any more ticks! These are all things that Essential Print Services stands for so I knew we had to be involved. It’s a fantastic idea to really bring the Derby community together and encourage people from far and wide to explore our great city.”
The artist who designed the ram, Ella Annetts, commented: “I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the Derby Ram trail. Designing and painting the Ram has been a joy and to be able to celebrate the work of Joseph Wright whilst bringing an extra splash of colour for people to enjoy on the city streets is an honour.”
After being delayed from last spring, the Ram Trail is now getting underway to give the city a boost and encourage visitors from far and wide to explore all it has to offer.
This announcement follows continued success for the Pride Park based print company and a run of awards for its owner, Yvonne Gorman, including Digital & Creative Ambassador of the Year at the recent Mainframe awards; the Francesca Kemp Award for Small Business from Small Business Saturday UK; and recognition as a ‘Volunteer Champion’ for work with the Federation of Small Businesses.
