Derbyshire Institute of Sport

Founded in 2012 as part of the Olympic and Paralympic legacy, the Derbyshire Institute of Sport was created to make world-class sports science accessible to everyone. Our research in 2011 revealed a real gap: young people in Derbyshire simply couldn’t access high-quality sports science at an affordable price.

That’s where we come in. Our passionate team of sports scientists brings together expertise in strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, performance psychology, sports nutrition, and mentoring, offering young people a truly coordinated support system. We work with individuals, schools, and clubs across the county.

We’re committed to keeping our services affordable for young people, and we’re only able to do this thanks to the generosity of local businesses who join our Game Changer family as sponsors. In return, our sponsors receive a unique benefits package, including opportunities for Corporate Social Responsibility, marketing and PR, business and client connections, and employee health and wellbeing. We also raise vital funds through grants, events, and advertising.
